Abstract

The productive landscape of the Argentinian Central Dairy Basin is addressed from its historical development paradigms, with the aim of pointing out the implications of their application and validity in the spatial configuration of its territory, highlighting dairy. A synthesis will be narrated with the results of the historical study of key economic activities for the basin, as well as a progress in the ways of thinking about the delimitation of its productive space. Conclusions indicate that new perspectives are needed which recognise new contexts in which dairy is developed, assessing interdependence relationships with other productive activities on its territory and incorporating notions from other approaches. On the other hand, a historical value of resilience emerges within local dairy that should be considered when formulating future development strategies for its productive landscape.
